Automakers
are getting more and more involved with charities each and every year, and
Rolls-Royce is chipping in. Ross has unveiled the FAB1, which is a Ghost
Extended Wheelbase that is slated to avail raise £1 million for breast cancer
by making this bespoke rolls available for hire over the next 12 months.
This Ghost
Extended Wheelbase features a pink body with a silver-satin-coated hood with
the typical spirit of Ecstasy on its nasal perceiver. Inside is where the
majority of the modifications come in to play, as it features pink highlights
strewn throughout the crème light leather interior and pink breast cancer
cognizance ribbons hand embroidered onto the headrests.
On top of the bespoke items,
this comely ride withal includes the typical Roll-Royce luxury items. These
high-end features include: hand-veneered tables for the rear seats; a dyad of
9.2-inch LCD screens; a champagne chiller box; a 600-watt, 16-verbalizer
circumvent-sound system; and lamb wool floor mats.
Roll-Royce
makes no mention of the FAB1 being offered up for sale after its 12-month-long
commission is consummated. However, we’re pretty certain it will make its way
to an auction block sometime next year with its proceeds benefiting the same
FAB1 project.
From a
distance, the EWB version of the Ghost looks essentially equipollent to the
standard model, but adjacent, the two are much different. The EWB model is a
full 4.7 inches longer and a 6.7 inches longer wheelbase. This extra length
sanctions for 3.3 extra inches of rear legroom, giving you a full 42.3 inches
to stretch out.
Under the hood is the typical
6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V-12 engine that pumps out a salubrious 562
horsepower at 5,250 rpm and 575 pound-feet of torque at a super-low 1,500 rpm.
This massive powerplant hooks up to an eight-speed automatic transmission and
the coalescence of the potent engine and refined transmission is enough to
sprint the base model to 60 mph in only 5 seconds. The EWB likely takes an
extra 0.3 seconds to get to highway speeds.
