Eight BMW SUVs planned by 2020

Eight BMW SUVs planned

by 2020

Autocar reports that by 2020 BMW could offer as many as eight different SUVs, ranging from the compact front-drive X1 to a more sporting X8 variant of the big seven-seat X7.
Out of the following eight SUVs just one of them has yet to be confirmed by BMW.
BMW X1 – The second generation X1 will use BMW’s new ULK1 platform which will deliver a front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants.
BMW X2 – The long-time rumoured X2 will be built atop the ULK1 platform which also underpins the new MINI and 2 Series Active Tourer, as well as the upcoming 2016 BMW X1.
The design is rumoured to follow the one seen on BMW Sport Activity Coupes with a three-door design, so expect an attractive sloping roofline and beefed up wheel arches. Some new design cues will make their way into the final design as well, with a focus on round narrow, angular headlights, sharp creases and an enlarged double kidney grille.
BMW X3 -In 2017, BMW will unveil the third generation X3. As expected no details are known at this time but future BMW models will offer an indication where the design language is heading.
BMW X4 -The second BMW Sports Activity Coupe has just launched but the rumormill churns out that an M Performance model will follow also.

BMW X5 – The third-generation X5 was launched last year. Its range will soon be crowned by a new M version, with power coming from a breathed-on version of the current car’s twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine.
BMW X6 – The new F16 BMW X6 comes to build atop the success of its predecessor and deliver even higher sales. F16 BMW X6 is an evolution of the E71 X6, with a design that doesn’t deviate from the proven formula. The new X6 is more masculine than ever, wider, slightly larger and meaner than ever.
BMW X7 -The new BMW X7 will come to market in late 2017 and will be built upon the new car architecture that BMW announced recently. The large premium SUV will share many of its components with other X models. It would go into production at its Spartanburg plant in North America in 2016. It is intended as BMW’s answer to the Mercedes-Benz GL.

BMW X8 – Still unconfirmed, the X8 is mooted as a more sporting version of the X7 on which it would be based. This will be a competitor Audi’s proposed Q8.

The fabulous X2 launching in 2017

BMW are launching the long-time rumoured X2 which is due to go on sale some time in 2017.

The X2 will underpin the new Mini, 2 Series Active Tourer and not forgetting the 2016 BMW X1. The X2 will hold some features of these cars such as the choice of having it with front wheel drive or four-wheel-drive.

The design of this new BMW is aiming to combine elegance and fiery looks to create a sharp but easy on the eye exterior view.  The design will include a slopping roof-line, beefed up wheel arches, as well as trying to add in rounded and narrowed headlights and a new enlarged double kidney grill.

The X2’s power will come from a large range of engines, three and four-cylinder. At smaller end of the range you can find the 1.5 litre turbo petrol, and at the top end you will find a performance X2, housing a 2.0 litre four-cylinder, 300bhp monster.

This top range model is set to rival the Audi RS Q3 and the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG.

The future for this car is very bright already, but BMW are going above and beyond to produce a plug-in hybrid version of this car, which is expected to achieve an astonishing 100mpg plus.

So, don’t miss this up and coming opportunity to be able to own one of these great machines! Keep an eye out for the date that it goes on sale, and don’t hold back when it does!!
