For the last few months BMW have; without a doubt, been at
the forefront of advanced vehicle technology.
The i3 has been quite the talk-of-the-town with its electric technology, futuristic
design and plans for fuel cells. It also has (an optional) self-parking system
that is so aptly named “Parking Assistant.”
The radar-based sensors on the front bumper scan spaces to
gauge if the car can fit into them. If the car thinks it can fit into the
specific spot, it will alert the driver who can then stop and park. Alternatively,
the driver can pull close to the spot and turn on the self-parking system and
the car will do the rest.
